Visible planets: Morning: Mercury, Venus Evening: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn
Summer solstice is one of the four cornerstones of the astrological year, along with autumn equinox, winter solstice and spring equinox. Summer and winter solstice mark the longest and shortest days of the year (in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres) while the spring and autumn equinox are days when the hours of light and dark are equal.
The word solstice comes from the Latin solstitium or sol (sun) and stitium, which means to stop. At the time of both winter and summer solstice, the Sun appears to stop. As it reaches it northernmost point in summer and its southernmost point in winter, the Sun appears to remain still for a few days and then change direction.
Summer solstice occurs precisely when the Earth’s axial tilt is most inclined toward the Sun, at 23 degrees 26 minutes. In the Northern Hemisphere this takes place in June; in the Southern Hemisphere, summer solstice takes place in December.
This year, summer solstice takes place on Saturday, June 21 at 4:51 am MDT. From Stonehenge to Anchorage to Telluride, Tibet and Rome, celebrations for the season of hot, sizzling days and enchanting, embracing evenings shall take place. And I couldn’t be happier. It’s finally Summer!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr. 19) With several planets retrograde, you may be reliving past memories and redefining what you think about how you got from there to here. The most important thing is to live fully in the present, applying past experience and lessons learned to your situation today. Solstice energy encourages self-nurturing. Be kind and gentle.
Taurus (Apr. 19-May 20) Venus moves through the last degrees of Taurus this week, putting finishing touches on creative projects and programs of self-enhancement. Others see you as an attractive target these days, so don’t be surprised if you feel like a people magnet. Beauty brings you great pleasure, surround yourself with it whenever possible. Focus attention on things you need to finish and redirect energy according to priority.
Gemini (May 20-June 20) Mercury retrograde in Gemini translates as a super-powerful time for you to put the prefix “re” in front of every thing you do. Redirect attention and re-channel energy toward projects you have left undone, need to complete or have previously started. Also find time to relax and regenerate. Summer solstice portends a season for tying up loose ends, cleaning house and letting go of what no longer works.
Cancer (June 20-July 22) Summer solstice marks the beginning of your solar year, a time of physical and spiritual rebirth and renewal. Handle each day like a sparkling, precious jewel; life has great worth and value. Mercury retrograde conjunct the Sun suggests a year of revitalization and restructure. As your12 year Jupiter cycle draws to a close, count your blessings and step confidently forward into the world of unlimited possibility. Expand and grow.
Leo (July 22-Aug. 22) Spring ends and summer begins as solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. Fairies dance and spirits rise in celebration of the season. Pay attention to the numinous and divine, as the invisible world of angelic force directs and guides you. Nostalgic longing and romantic musings come and go as you replay movies from past life and love. Treat yourself kindly, forgive others and cultivate inner peace.
Virgo (Aug. 22-Sep. 22) Summer awakens spirit and inspires creativity. Hope and optimism are essential to making dreams become realities. The truth is, dreams are simply desires and desires fuel creation and manifestation. Tap into your heart daily, get to know what lives and breathes inside, nurture self-love and accept responsibility for what you do, think and say. Life is magic and you are the magician. Choose wisely, maintain progress.
Libra (Sep. 22-Oct. 22) Summer solstice initiates the season of sizzling days and seductive nights. All in wink, it’s here. And with so much dynamic force operating in the visible and invisible worlds, cool your jets and recalibrate your engine. Busy, busy is fine for a while, but too long and hard equals emotional stress, physical pain and spiritual depletion. Balance is what you run on. See to it you get the rest, fun and relaxation you need.
Scorpio (Oct. 22-Nov. 21) Welcome to summer and the season of budding fruit and blossoming flowers. Beauty and bounty are themes as you continue upon the road of personal renewal and restructure. Connect with the Mother Earth’s natural abundance and nurturing power via peaceful, quiet time away from synthetic, virtual realities and computer-generated pastimes. Explore spirit and travel in positive, inspirational directions.
Sagittarius (Nov. 21-Dec. 20) On the heels of the Gemini-Sagittarius full Moon, you may feel exhausted, over-the-hill or just “over it” in one-way or another. Take a break from the fast pace and intense spaces that social demands and responsibilities often deliver. Pick and choose exactly whom you want to spend time with now. Being in the presence of toxic influence can be deeply detrimental in body, mind and spirit. Relax and self-nurture.
Capricorn (Dec. 20-Jan. 19) As the Sun enters zodiac Cancer and summer begins, Capricorns reach the halfway point in their annual journey around the Sun. This is a time of potential spiritual, emotional and mental balance, a time when you gravitate toward and attract people inspire and uplift you. Listen to your intuition, follow your heart and find your angels.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) A plethora of planets in the first quadrant of your solar chart translates as an amazing time of self-sufficient, self-fueled action and manifestation. Financial opportunities abound now and buried treasure lies as close-to-home as your own back yard. With so much talent and ability, you need not travel far to expand and explore your world. Keep your heart open and your feet on the ground. Good luck!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Summer solstice marks a powerful opening of the heart for the Fish. This is a magnificent time of creative power, romantic excitement and artistic expression. You may feel a deep sense of gratitude, joy and appreciation for the gift of life you have been given and find yourself wanting to express and show it to the world. Take your time and find the way. Embrace the magic and follow the signs.

The Primal Mind & the Cosmic Brain; Evolving Stars & Starlight
Gemini energy is light, airy, curious, flirtatious and fun. Sagittarius energy is fiery, enthusiastic, adventurous, expansive and free. Both are easily excitable and love to laugh. Jesters and jokers, scholars, explorers, writers, actors, politicians, professors, priests and players of every shape and kind, the Gemini-Sagittarius polarity weds the little boy's and girl's beginners mind in each of us with the well-educated, enlightened, world-traveled seeker and spiritual guru that also resides within. It is where the primal brain, after eons of thinking, perceiving, learning, planning, talking and teaching [Gemini], reaches the point of no return - the brilliantly glistening horizon of unlimited potential and possibility; our ever-expanding, exploding Universe and awakens to the ultimate, creative force of the cosmos, [Sagittarius], the numinous and divine Cosmic Brain, also known as God. It is here we experience enlightenment – nirvana - for just moments or for a lifetime. We understand the interconnectedness of life and death, all things and beings - rocks, plants, animals, water and minerals, intentions and spirits are made of starlight. We are the stars.
This week, as the Moon waxes toward full, take a look at the Gemini hustle and busy-body bustle all around you. And take a good look at yourself. Chances are you are feeling a bit discombobulated, over-busy, over-loaded and scattered from here to there with so many things to do and places to go. Forgetting something? So why not see if you can bridge the gap between our common, everyday 3D reality and the magnificent, fairy tale, fantasy world of our dreams? Point your Archer's arrow toward the Father Sky, dial up the Hotline to Heaven and book a ticket on the fabulous Magic Carpet ride of childhood storybook lands to your favorite evolving star, constellation or starry space. Why not try? What do you have to lose? Good luck and may the Great Force be with you. Onward Cosmic Travelers...
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) As we wind our way toward the Gemini-Sagittarius full Moon of June 12th – under Mercury retrograde – be prepared for plenty of mental review and reconsideration regarding personal self, family, domestic situation and career path. What challenges were you facing 6 months ago? What changes do you still need to make? Face the challenge and commit to change.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) Dynamic challenges may come into play regarding spouse, family, home and professional life as the Moon grows full under the influence of the third of three cardinal grand crosses this year. You are being pulled subconsciously - by past life experience, childhood conditioning and moral standards – toward more compassion and kindness. Let it be.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) For the last six months, the world has been under intense pressure to examine four different areas of life: self-identity, relationships, home life and work. Now, with a full Moon and the third of three cardinal grand crosses in orb, resolution is possible. The more you resist change, the more frustrating, fatiguing and stifling circumstances become. Let it go.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Another powerful lunar fruition translates as a fortuitous challenge of change for Moonchildren. Celestial pressure has been constant this year, with little leaps and bounds of profound understanding and enlightenment. And yet, it is still difficult to let go of what you worked so long and hard for. Jupiter says, have faith and go forward. It’s time for new horizons.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Mercury retrograde periods favor words and actions that start with the prefix “re” – reconsider, review, reprocess, revise, return…the list goes on and on. For one who prefers to make the best of every situation - turning lemons into lemonade for example – this is just another fortuitous opportunity to take care of so many things left undone. Job security, get busy.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Mental, messenger Mercury is Virgo’s traditional ruler, but planetoid Chiron is identified as its metaphysical healer and spiritual guide. And healing is what it’s all about. Awaken to the amazing importance you have in your own life. Embrace the magic of self-responsibility. How daunting to realize you – and only you – have the power to make creative changes. Yes!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Another exact cardinal cross – the third of three – comes into orb as the Moon grows full. This translates as another powerful turning point and metaphysical touchstone for getting in sync with the cosmos. Mars now direct in Libra gives you a green light regarding personal goals and desires. Take it one day at a time. Clean house and keep the ball rolling, as you focus on inner peace.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) The opposition of Saturn in Scorpio to Venus in Taurus under the illuminating light of this week’s waxing Moon – exact on June 12th – honors the values and limits of yourself and others. This is a wildly powerful and far-reaching opportunity to establish realistic and healthy boundaries within your soul and psyche.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) The June full Moon takes place in the Gemini-Sagittarius polarity, the cosmic bridge connecting perception, cognition and intelligence to judgment, philosophy and belief. It is here you discover an intriguing, enticing array of possibility and potential, a veritable winning hand of cards with which to play. Take the high road and follow the signs.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars in square aspect combined with a grand water trine and a full Moon in fire and air promise a very dynamic and potentially life-changing week. Keep your head and heart aligned with the higher good, a higher purpose and your Higher Power. Whatever, whoever and whenever; emotions are like the weather – it constantly changes.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) With planets and asteroids in every sign but the Aquarius-Leo polarity, you may feel less stressed and more detached than many in these crazy, chaotic days and times. You understand the interconnectedness of all humanity and the importance of healthy plants and animals upon the Earth. Clean air and water are essential to life. Remain calm and lead by example.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Health-conscious Chiron and numinous Neptune in Pisces join force in a sensuous water trine with reality-based Saturn in seductive Scorpio and far-reaching Jupiter in nurturing Cancer this week. Meanwhile, love-planet Venus in Taurus adds stability and calm to an otherwise tumultuous full Moon. Breathe deep, touch the earth and keep the faith. Patience is a virtue.

Visible Planets: Morning: Venus Evening: Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn
Day by Day, Year by Year, Century to Century...
Day by day, year by year, century to century, the Mother Earth revolves around our Sun. It is a miraculous cosmic relationship, two celestial bodies committed to one another…’til death do us part. Solar rays kiss the Earth with heat and light, warm her soil and oceans, melt crystalline ice and reawaken the dormant life beneath the frozen winters of her northern and southern hemispheres.
Here in southwestern Colorado, we are blessed with four distinct seasons, and each one is uniquely magical and magnificent. Right now, we are rounding the corner of May and June, crossing from the patient, primal earth-territory of Taurus the Bull into the multi-faceted, duality-rich Gemini lands of laughing brooks and raging rivers, traveling trailers, motorized vehicles, camping trips and end-of-the-school-year celebrations. Seeds have taken root, vibrant greens have triumphed over muted blondes and the Twin’s restless, excitable, curious movement, mode and motion is in the air.
Good luck and may the Father Sky, Grandfather Sun, Mother Earth and Grandmother Moon embrace and guide us through the winding roads of life and love, good and evil, dark and light. Blessings, peace and starlight…
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The grand cardinal cross meets up with a grand trine in water, deepening emotions and encouraging compassion. As the mind and heart work together through joy and sorrow, these planetary aspects provide golden opportunities for understanding, forgiveness and acceptance. Balance is the key to inner peace and outer calm. Slow down and feel. It’s time to heal.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) A fresh lunar cycle opens doors of enlightenment and understanding regarding personal roles and the amazing, important part you play in the lives of others. Acceptance is the answer to all your problems today and self-responsibility is your ally. Pay attention to internal dialogues and how emotions come paired with thoughts. Change your brain and change your life.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The recent Gemini new Moon heralds the union of body and spirit, mind and emotion, heart and head for the Twins. Utilize these days as a touchstone for the soul; witness thoughts, behaviors and feelings as you go about your daily round. Are you distracting yourself by getting too much going at once or jumping from one unfinished thing to another? Slow down, relax.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) New and full Moons tap the souls and move the spirits of Moonchildren, and the recent May 28th Gemini new Moon is no exception. In fact, it’s one of the more powerful lunations of your year. Angels and demons, guardian spirits and forest devas dance in the moonlight of your hopes and dreams. Pay attention to inner voices and follow your intuition.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Moving with the groove and going with flow are ways in which to get in synch with the Universe this week and lunar month. A grand water trine mollifies the ongoing cardinal grand cross, providing you with the power and mojo to travel to the depths of emotion without getting swept away by the current. Let your strong, brave heart be your guide. Follow its wisdom.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Ruler Mercury goes retrograde June 7th and is followed a few days later by Neptune. This translates as an extended period of review and revision, when you will return to matters that must be addressed. This week, continue moving forward, focusing attention on progress and production. Maintain a positive attitude and a steady pace. Perseverance furthers.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Moving forward, moving on and moving in general are themes. Right action and good works are favored. Personal changes continue as others also change. Awakening is a theme for everyone these days, and it’s not easy. Partners may be erratic or surprise you with wild ideas. Take it all in stride and maintain equilibrium. Focus on steady progress and daily routines.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Saturn in your sign forms a water grand trine with Chiron and Jupiter this week, easing the pain and presenting you with solutions. The Universe seeks resolution and often, when we get out of the way, we can see and experience the meaning behind the mystery. Amidst all the lessons and learning, there is grace. Focus and gratitude, acceptance and forgiveness.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Ruler Jupiter, in a watery, emotional trine to serious Saturn and heal-the-pain Chiron, opens the door to enhanced intimacy and expanded commitment in both personal and business-related relationships. It is possible to maintain both your integrity and personal truth now. Stand up for what you know is right and inform others of how you think and feel.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Self-improvement is the name of the game this week and month. Whether it is personal habits, internal dialogues or patterns of behavior, now is the time to take a good look at what you might modify or change. Health is wealth, period. Check out what you put in your mouth and also what comes out of it. Eat and speak with wisdom. One word and food at a time.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The heart-mind and body-spirit connection sets you free this week as the waxing Gemini lunar cycle initiates a month-long phase of exciting creativity and personal self-expression. With so much going on, and so much of it to your liking, take time to say thanks. Whether it is a mysterious force or someone close, you are being helped. Cultivate gratitude.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Planetary aspects combine with a fresh lunar cycle for a week to get things done, make progress and move forward. Personal self, family relationships and domestic life take center stage. Focus on self-nurturing and self-care. We must be happy and healthy, love and forgive ourselves in order to give those gifts to others. Do the inner work and the outer world shimmers.

The Magical, Mystical Dance of Venus and the Crescent Moon
As a young teenager, I can remember sitting on the front lawn outside our Denver home on Forest Street, in pink and turquoise twilight, observing the celestial pairing of a slender crescent Moon with brilliant Venus, that night’s “evening star.” The balmy summer air embraced me, I was taken by the world’s natural beauty, the mystical magnificence of the moment, the magical wonder of the stars.
I went inside to get a sketchpad and some crayons. I drew the scene in dusky twilight, and at the bottom I wrote: “Someday, I can share this.” My heart was filled with romantic yearning, creative hopes and open dreams. The road of life stretched out before me, unwritten, blank pages of my future.
Today I live in southwestern Colorado. I have traded in the Rocky Mountain Front Range setting-sun horizon for the sky-island uprise of the La Sal Mountains in southeastern Utah. The slender crescent Moon and brilliant Venus still pair up in twilight, and I am still enchanted by their stunning, celestial beauty. And, yes, someday is here.
This week, the magical, mystical dance of Venus and the slender, waning crescent Moon can be observed before dawn above the eastern horizon in morning twilight. Fun to watch, magnificent to view; peace and starlight, enjoy the show.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Mars direct and the Sun’s entrance into Gemini portend a period of forward motion regarding important relationships and personal goals. Like it or not, we must work with others to get things done. Take responsibility for your actions and persevere, no matter what. Focus on patience and progress. Simply do the next right thing, one day and moment at a time.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The world turns and the Bull works. And this month, it’s all about self-improvement and self-care. Are you paying attention to what you are eating, thinking and feeling? The body-mind-spirit connection is huge now; holistic living is where it’s at. Rediscover what you already know: the Mother Earth gives you everything you need. Self-nurture and relax.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Your Happy Birthday month begins with a subtle but major shift of energy and consciousness. Mars direct in your solar 5th house of the creative kindles fires of heartfelt inspiration and revelation. You can and will make it through those forests of darkness, distress and despair. Emotions are like the weather; everything changes. Sunshine follows rain.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) The April eclipse cycle, cardinal grand cross and fifth exact square of Uranus and Pluto have pulled us down to news depths of awakening and realization. We can no longer ignore the dramatic effects humanity has upon the Mother Earth: ignorance is no longer bliss. As a true champion of life and sustaining life, do what you can. Baby steps are giant steps.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Motivational Mars going direct in fair-minded Libra - your solar 3rd house of perception, thought and communication - encourages action when it comes to relationships. You may suddenly want to tell someone how you feel or go for a visit. And there is no time like the present. Get out the maps, study the atlas and pack your bags. Open your eyes, enjoy the sights.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Good news comes this week via a renewed sense of commitment when it comes to accepting responsibility and taking action. Rather that waste time thinking about what you could or should have done, just do it. There is plenty of job security wherever you look. Improve yourself; your home and your environment by doing things that make you feel good. Enjoy!
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) The 3-month period of Mars retrograde has come to an end and you can now look forward to daily progress and new territory regarding personal self, goals and agendas. Take a deep breath and recognize the beauty of patience. Our dynamically changing Universe seeks resolution amidst creative chaos as we create future karma in the now. Be present, go forth.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Angels and demons have been tough on stubbornly fixed Scorpions this year. With Saturn retrograde in your sign, you’ve been forced to face things you did not want to face, make amends and get serious about personal responsibility. That said, this is a tremendously powerful time of your life and the angels love you. Make good choices.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) As the Sun enters Gemini, your opposite sign, you may feel motivated to connect with people you find attractive, inspirational and/or enlightening. Put on a happy face and get out and about in your world and neighborhood. Friends and fellowship motivate and encourage exploration and discovery. Think out of the box while taking care of the basics.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Mars direct in your solar 10th house of achievement and recognition lights fires of desire when it comes to personal goals and aspirations. As you see the wild and wonderful world of potential and possibility in our ever-expanding Universe, you may feel motivated to make some very sweeping changes regarding work, livelihood and relationships. Keep the ball rolling.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) As the Sun moves into Gemini, your solar 5th house of the heart, you may feel more creative, amorous and romantic than you have in months. Inspiration and aspiration are allies now. Express yourself in word and deed when it comes to those you love. Also find time for fun and recreational activities. All work and no play, you know how it goes.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) The Sun now in Gemini and the forward motion of Mars in Libra combine in an air-filled bubble or balloon of ideas, perceptions and thoughts regarding others. Communication, justice, honesty, equality and balance are themes. Also strong is the desire to improve yourself and your domestic environment. Enjoy your home and take good care of you.

Out-of-the-Dark and Into-the-Light; Like-it-or-Not
The full Moon rising above the snow-covered San Juans in turquoise twilight last night was awesome. The first colored night-lights of the tiny town of Norwood twinkled below. The sky was a cloudless, watercolor wash of cerulean blue. No wind, just crisp, cool springtime air. The quiet, pastoral beauty was daunting…
While I find perpetual solace and comfort in the Sun, Moon and stars, the magnificent, abundant generosity, forgiveness and fertility of nature and the Mother Earth, I am finding the ongoing and long-term planetary square between radical, liberty-loving Uranus [in self-survival Aries] and seething, pull-you-down-to-the-depths Pluto [in authoritarian, this-is-the-way-it-is, like-it-or-not Capricorn] to be challenging, in the very the least. I am super-maxed these days with responsibilities – things that I’ve signed up for and things that I have definitely not signed up for - but have fallen into my lap and life – things that I am compelled to do, body, mind and spirit. Too much on my plate; just trying to “get it all done.”
At the end of every day, of course, I know I’m not the only one. We are all in this together. I see and hear it almost everywhere I go. Dynamic forces; personal, global - collective awakening and ultimate, unstoppable, transformational, metamorphic change.
Today I work on acceptance, surrender and right action. With these cardinal grand crosses, it is all about action. Do your best and take the test. Go forward. Sink or swim, win or lose; success or failure. We must do what we can, for ourselves and the good of all concerned - every day, every minute, every second. Mars, Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus, dancing a square dance of you, me, them and other. C’est la vie. Such is life. May we walk in beauty and find inner peace and sparkling starlight in the eternal heart of the Creative Spirit.
Onward Cosmic Travelers...
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) With radical, rebellious Uranus moving through the middle degrees of your sign - basically halfway through its 7-year transit in Aries – you are more than familiar with its revolutionary effects. It’s all about positive, truthful change; living honestly, no matter what. And with out-of-the-closet Pluto involved, there are no more secrets. Let go and surrender.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) On the heels of the lusty, out-of-the-dark and into-the-light May full Moon, you may feel as if you have seen it all and done what you can when it comes to others. Partners and mates, commitments and responsibilities in relationships, as well as your own personal commitments to yourself are highlighted. Focus on emotional detachment and spiritual balance.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) You may experience a sudden awakening from or strong attraction to a friend, friendship, sisterhood or brotherhood as beauty-loving Venus pairs up with electric Uranus in your solar 11th house of fellowship and camaraderie. Connect with people of like mind and spirit, common interest and/or goals. Altruistic, truthful sharing brings reward and engenders romance.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) As the Sun moves through the last degrees of earthy Taurus and enters air-apparent Gemini on May 20th you may feel a subtle but major shift in priority and consciousness. The coming month favors introspection, soul-searching, meditation and prayer. Consider what’s going on inside in relation to what you experience on the outside. Get in touch with spirit.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Romantic, love-loving Venus joins force with quick-acting, love-at-first-sight Uranus in your solar 9th house of higher mind and spirit this week, fueling sudden attraction and impulsive action when it comes to others. Intensity and seduction are themes as you weave your way through strong emotions and questionable situations. Just do the right thing - be honest.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) A prolonged period of relative self-stasis and self-review is coming to an end this week as motivator Mars goes direct in your solar 2nd house of personal resource and reliance. While you may have struggled with self-doubt or run from responsibility, now you will find it easy to get up and go forward. Embrace courage and take action, work! One day at a time.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Mighty Mars, ancient god of war and men, resumes forward motion in Libra this week, closing the door on three months of retrograde. This translates as a major shift of priority and desire, a time of passionate discovery and personal creativity. Understanding ego, releasing self-importance and embracing humility are keys to making magic. Go for gold.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Where have you been and where are you heading? Saturn still retrograde in Scorpio continues to present you with golden opportunities for and magical doors to authentic, realistic self-improvement via lessons and learning. All you have to do is show up, be present and do the work. No illusions or delusions allowed. It’s about sobriety and responsibility. If not today, when?
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) With so much going on in the world and cosmos, how can you find the solid ground you need to build your life and relationships? Of course, it’s all begins within, upon the fertile soil of soul and spirit. Great benefits come via opening your heart and mind to shamanistic practices and holistic teachings. Travel the road less traveled to the magical place of grace and gratitude.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) A magnetic, charismatic attraction may have pulled you toward something or someone that you feel you cannot resist. And yet, in all the heat and passion, you must consider the risks, challenges and potential pitfalls of the situation. Awaken to inner truth and simply do the next right thing. As you change inside, the world changes outside. Follow your heart.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Voluptuous Venus dances with Pluto, embraces Uranus and flirts with Jupiter this week, attracting attention to her divine beauty and celestial charm. Enjoy the show and observe the necessity and magic of the soft and sweet. Girls, women, mothers and sisters, the Mother Earth. Respect and nurture what and who feeds and takes care of you, your life and liberty.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) As the Sun moves from the solid ground of Taurus into the fickle, changing winds of Gemini, you may feel a slight change of mood and modality. Personal patterns, habits and behaviors stand out against the backdrop of changing relationships, situations and conditions. Cultivate inner peace via personal responsibility and daily practice.

The Mystical and Primal, Lusty, Earthy Taurus/Scorpio Full Moon
It’s springtime in the Rockies. Mud and snow, sleet, rain and hail. Magnificent sunshine, peek-a-boo light and budding trees. Brave tulips and courageous, yellow daffodils pop up out of heavy mulch as cerulean bluebirds stand out against the slowly greening landscape. Afternoon winds chill the air above fast-running irrigation ditches as infant lambs and baby calves stay close to their mother’s warm bodies and sweet, nourishing milk. New life is emerging everywhere. Our annual growing season has taken root.
And this week, as the Earth changes with the season’s emerging, growing new life, the Moon waxes toward full. We feel the pull of this ancient lunar deity - the mystical, feminine goddess of reflected light and receptive love - directing us inward, connecting us to our deep, inner world of emotion and feeling [Scorpio]. On the outside, the powerful, primal force of the Sun - masculine god of life and light - arouses our senses and encourages us to touch, taste, see, hear and smell [Taurus]. It's a balance of yin and yang, inner and outer. Lunar fruition [the full Moon] takes place on May 14th at 1:16 p.m. MDT @ 23º 55” Taurus [Sun] / Scorpio [Moon].
This lunation is perennially one of the most lusty and seductive full Moons of the year. The Taurus/Scorpio polarity plays out the balancing act, and coming together of our physical and emotional desires. It is where we not only want, but want deeply. Cravings for food, intimacy, emotional and physical security, sexual and creature comforts are themes. Take your time and enjoy the unique, constantly changing weather patterns that only spring can bring. As you do, don't forget to feel and touch the Mother Earth - the life-giving, nurturing Mother of us all. Blessings and peace...
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) The May full Moon has been dubbed “the sexiest Moon of the year” by many astrologers, but it might also be portrayed as the most powerfully seductive - emotionally and physically - lunation of the zodiac. It is here we see what we most require [Taurus] and what we most desire, and fear [Scorpio]. Face your fears and trust that you can endure. Thy will be done.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The balancing lunation of the recent Taurus new Moon solar eclipse takes place on May 14th @1:16 pm MDT. This heralds a powerful peak of physical and emotional fruition for the Bull. Take a good look at your life, self and relationships. Who and what do you value? Can you discern light from darkness, understanding both are necessary? Keep the peace, stay the course.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Wanting what we have [vs. wanting what we don’t have] is a golden key to happiness. Improving what we have is therapeutic; it gives birth to health, wealth, satisfaction and success. Examine how you may be scattering your personal energy and resources. Find quiet space and time to carve out a plan for conservation and focus. Then execute it, one day and moment at a time.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) With mental Mercury now transiting your solar 12th house of soul and spirit, you may find yourself thinking about life and death, those who have passed on, and the possibilities of energetic existence and/or experience on the other side. Meanwhile, friends, fellowships and shared common interests fuel fires of inspiration. Light the fire and fan the flame.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) The Taurus zodiac month is traditionally one of achievement and recognition for the Lion. You may feel in the limelight or centerstage when it comes to others. Somehow, against all odds, things are working out. Rather than celebrate and blow the bank, take it slow and easy. Do the math, balance the equations. Patience is an art of virtue, practice the art.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Moving and grooving, hustle and bustle can be an escape and distraction, a way to avoid responsibilities, block out doubt and cultivate denial. This week, however, lunar light illuminates the nooks and crannies of hidden fear, awakening awareness and motivating courageous action. Isn’t it time to take care of what you need to take care of? Yes, step-by-step, day-by-day.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) You may feel slightly disconnected or at odds this week as the Moon grows full in the fixed Taurus-Scorpio polarity. With so much personal responsibility, chores and work-related concerns, it may be difficult to refrain from stress and distress. Take a deep breath and exhale, letting it go. Do it again, and again. How do you create or amplify your own suffering? Let go.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) The May 14th Taurus-Scorpio full Moon marks a powerful yearly point of balance, and ultimate completion, for the Scorpion. This is where and when we can clearly see the light and darkness of our lives, selves and relationships, face our fears and accept responsibility for our actions. You are a tremendously courageous warrior. Open you heart, do the next right thing.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Going from place to place, space to space, here, there and everywhere can get tiring, exhausting physical energy and sacrificing spiritual wellness. Resource management is where it’s at now. You must get serious about action and consequence, overall balance and karma. Meditation, rest and relaxation are imperative for health. Take it easy, breathe, relax and sleep.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The Slow Food movement began in 1989 with the intention of counteracting the harmful physical, social and environmental effects and consequences of fast food. Today, you can celebrate organic growers and living, support sustainability and local farmer’s markets. Put your money where your heart is, practice pro-active living and cultivate healing via grace.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The fixed modality of the Taurus-Scorpio full Moon lunation strikes a chord in the heartstrings of your heart; the music is powerfully motivating and exceptionally strong. Challenges and opportunities abound now; you are busy from dawn ‘til dusk. The good news is that your burden is only as great as your strength. When day is done, make good sleep a priority.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Taurus seeks self-sufficiency and stability; its shadow is materialism and complacency. Scorpio seeks intimacy and transformation; its shadow is deception and domination. Finding a positive balance between archetypal light and darkness, yin and yang is a theme now. You may need to go deep, but don’t drown. Stay grounded in practical, realistic solutions.

Embracing Warmth, Emerging Flowers & Starry Nights
Following several cool days and very cold nights, with highs in the 40’s and lows in the 20’s, it has finally warmed up. The weather today was glorious. I am encouraged.
For me, life is equally miracle and mystery. So much magnificence, and so much sorrow. The world and Universe in which we live and breathe is a chaotically creative dance of polarity and duality, a multi-verse of yin and yang, black and white, shades of grey and fabulously vibrant and mystically muted colors. I am gifted and blessed. I can walk and breathe, sleep and eat. I am humbled by the abundance of our Mother Earth. I am grateful for what I am given daily for sustenance and survival.
As the lusty month of May begins, we find ourselves on the front side of a prolonged warming trend. Planting seeds, transplanting starts, watering gardens, nurturing life, staying present, maintaining inner peace and doing the best I can are themes. We have just now experienced the first two eclipses of 2014, and weathered the cosmic storm. The powerful and full-of-challenge-and-change grand cardinal cross, involving planets Pluto [Capricorn], Uranus [Aries], Jupiter [Cancer] and Mars [Libra] is still in orb. We are on the back side of the snap-crackle-pop of upset and rather explosive, stress-filled emotions, doubts and fears that come with uncertainty. New territory is both exciting and scary.
I find solace and comfort these days in nature, good books and sweet surrender. Life’s most simple pleasures. And yet, I’m still willing to fight for right and do what I can to remain strong and courageous. Of course, it doesn’t always work.
Here’s to a month of emerging flowers, embracing warmth, calming days and starry nights. May we find peace and walk in beauty.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Moving forward at a slower pace than you might like or prefer is best now, and for many reasons. Taurus energy favors practical realism, patience and focus. Breathe deep, take life one day at a time and practice the arts of daily structure and self-discipline. Replace impulse and indulgence with caution and discernment. Perseverance furthers.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) Cakes are cut and candles lit as the Bull celebrates another revolution around the Sun. Congratulations! You are here on this magnificent planet Earth, living and breathing, touching and feeling. Awaken to the sensational world surrounding you and enjoy it! Gratitude is the path to grace; you are blessed and fortunate. Know it, see it, embrace it. Good work!
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Mental Mercury, moves through the final degrees of Taurus this week, illuminating themes of silence, meditation and prayer. Pay attention to internal dialogues and take note of repetitive thought patterns and recurring fears. What fuels self-doubt and suffering? As you prepare for birthday rebirth, be kind and gentle to yourself. Practice forgiveness and cultivate compassion.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) As good luck, good will, abundance-loving planet Jupiter transits the middle degrees of Cancer, take a good, long look around your life. Consider the multi-dimensional options and opportunities surrounding you. Choices are many and you may feel challenged deciding which way to go. Simply go in the directions that feel good. Follow your heart.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Others may request the honor of your presence, ask for guidance or simply want you to take them out and about. Whatever the manifestation, you are popular, in demand, in the public eye, being watched and admired. As one who doesn’t mind the spotlight, you may be flattered. Just make sure you’re taking care of you. Otherwise, watch out!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) As ruler Mercury moves from earthy Taurus into fickle, flexible Gemini, you may feel somewhat unsettled and uncertain of yourself and others. Move back into the security and stability of your physical body via daily walks and exercise, nutritious food and general routines of self-betterment. Clean your house, touch the earth, plant a garden.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) As Mercury moves into fellow air-sign Gemini this week, you may discover that reading books and exploring spiritually infused teachings uplifts and inspires your awakening, enlightenment and well-being. There are many paths and many masters. The joy of learning and the reward of expanding personal awareness are amazing gifts that keep your heart open and spirit free.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Motivator Mars retrograde in Libra, your solar 12th house of the unconscious may have you lost in a netherland of dreams or seeking an idealistic, impractical solution to a long-standing problem or unsolvable dilemma. Many things – most things – are out of your control. But, one thing you can control – that is you. Surrender, accept and work on improving you.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Voluptuous Venus in Pisces continues attracting beauty and pleasure to your door, physically and metaphorically. All you need to do is see the beauty. Where might you be blocking your own happiness and well-being? How can you be more present and proactive in your own self-betterment and physical, emotional and spiritual health? It’s holistic. Nurture body, mind and spirit.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) You may find yourself re-working your professional goals and paths of achievement as action-oriented Mars continues its retrograde journey through your solar 10th house of career and social standing. What do you value? How do you define success? Who do you admire? Taurus energy encourages heartfelt creativity. Embrace your creative spirit and follow its direction.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The Taurus zodiac month favors a stay-at-home approach to life, taking care of personal business and working on a day-to-day basis to make your immediate environment a healthier, happier place to live and thrive. By focusing on what’s in front of you, remaining present and simply doing the next right thing, you will succeed. Perseverance furthers.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Good things come to those who nurture and follow their hearts, the trick is in stopping the chatter of internal dialogues to hear the quiet wisdom and inner peace of the silence within. As the Taurus Sun moves through your solar 3rd house of perception and thought, pay attention to the way you process information and the emotions that manifest as a result.

The Taurus New Moon Solar Eclipse: Plant a Garden!
As we approach the annual advent of a Taurus New Moon - and this one happens to be a solar eclipse - I'm thinking about gardens. And what could be more appropriate for the zodiac's first earth sign; sign of touching the earth, tilling the soil, planting the seed and sustaining the life within it. Following the primal thrust and survival instinct of Aires, Taurus is where and when we put down roots and establish a place of stability, security and sustenance. And gardens are perfect metaphors for doing just that.
The good news is that our Mother Earth turns green in Taurus, April showers feed May flowers and wild asparagus pop up along the ditches and roadways. I'm busy transplanting seedlings and nurturing small herb and vegetable starts, gradually moving them into our small, outdoor greenhouse, hoping they make it through the cold nights and chilly mornings of early spring.
In the outside garden, my bright green garlic sprouts - planted last autumn - look happy and healthy amidst their golden straw mulch, but the spinach and lettuce seeds I planted a while back are yet to see the light of day. I take a deep breath and remind myself that “all is well on the western front” - at least it looks that way - and that's exactly the way I want to frame it.
Meanwhile, back in my astrology office, I am doing readings and talking to people who are struggling with life and relationships. Well, what’s new? Isn’t it always like that? Isn’t life a series of challenges and changes, ecstasies and triumphs, suffering and sorrow, confusion, chaos, joy, laughter and - hopefully - awakening?
Feeling a bit "distressed" - my word for this particular eclipse cycle, like I might be falling down the proverbial rabbit's hole - and attempting to come up with a good description of this week’s Taurus new Moon eclipse energy as it entrains with the dynamic, rather didactic Jupiter, Mars, Pluto, Uranus grand cardinal cross, I found the perfect piece of writing by Stephanie Austin in the April/May 2014 issue of The Mountain Astrologer:
"Light encodes information; every second, our Earth receives about 3 billion megawatts of sunlight in the form of radio, X-ray, ultraviolet and other kinds of electromagnetic waves. Twice a year, the Sun, Moon and Earth align precisely to block the constant stream of solar radiation; during those moments, the energetic grids supporting creation are taken offline, recoded and rebooted. Old programs are erased and new possibilities become available. Solar eclipses thus function as extra-powerful New Moons, signaling a time of major endings and beginnings, completions and initiations. They occur close to the same degree every 19 years. On April 29, 1995, there was an eclipse at 08º56’ Taurus, within 5 arc minutes of this year’s April 29th [08º51' Taurus @ 12:14 a.m. MDT] solar eclipse. What was happening in your life then? Where do you need to go to the next level now?
A solar eclipse in Taurus signifies the readiness for a collective shift in how we interact with the physical world. Taurus is the first earth sign, concerned with the development of a healthy relationship to matter – to be neither too attached to nor disconnected from our bodies, resources and the Earth itself. Mercury conjoins this New Moon, urging us to develop new understandings and ways of working with nature. What we don’t understand, we tend to fear, and what we fear, we try to dominate and control. For many years, a deep fear of nature (and the feminine) has been fostered by patriarchal religious doctrines, leading to a profound disconnection from the denigration of the environment….
As we are still in the wake of the extremely powerful cardinal grand cross, it’s time to make a quantum leap. A new bottom line is being formed, a new relationship between man and matter, a new attitude toward nature, toward money and toward all life. Something profound is germinating in the collective consciousness: valuing ourselves, valuing love and beauty, valuing the Mother Earth.” - Stephanie Austin
So, there you have it. Go plant a garden! And then sustain it…con Dios y la diosa, las estrellas y la Tierra Madre. It's a great place to run into the White Rabbit. Good luck!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Cosmic fallout from colliding ecliptic forces in orb last week continues as you pick up the pieces and attempt to move forward. Good news is that those illuminating full Moons, which bring things to fruition and zenith, are followed by new Moons, potent hallmarks for starting fresh. Take what you’ve learned and make the best of it. Onward and upward.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The Taurus new Moon of every year is a benchmark of assessment for the year to come. What important developments and experiences took place over the last 12 months? What lessons have you learned? How have you grown? Do you feel better about yourself, your life and your relationships now than you did last year? Gather the grain, plant seeds for the harvest.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The April 29th new Moon solar eclipse heralds the beginning of an in-depth phase of inner exploration and spiritual surrender. Compassion – for yourself and others – and forgiveness - of the same - are powerful allies on your journey inward. Understanding the connectedness of all beings, Mother Nature and the cosmos illuminates your path. Happy trails y buena suerte.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) The Taurus zodiac month is perennially one of inspiration and aspiration for Moonchildren. The awakening of the Mother Earth supports and encourages your natural, inherent ways of experiencing, nurturing and sustaining life. Gather seeds, till the soil and plant gardens in both the literal and metaphorical sense. Seek camaraderie with those who understand.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) As the world shifts, ceilings are shattered and foundations crumble. Good news is that the solid, fixed nature of Leo lions remains intact. Your biggest challenges these days come in the shape of other people, places and things. This process translates as a powerfully potent time for creating new personal boundaries and life structures. Focus on quality rather than quantity.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Taking action has been an important theme for you for months. And the last few weeks demonstrate that importance. Working with others with calm patience and fortitude is imperative for success, but may prove challenging in light of recent developments. Hold your tongue and cultivate compassion as you focus on solutions, positive ideas and right action.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) While you may have been somewhat shaken by the events and experiences over the last two weeks, you must now accept them and move forward. New Moon solar eclipse energy favors a calm head and steady heart. Focus on the facts, be patient with others and seek realistic, practical solutions to problems. Seek out quiet spaces and peaceful places to revitalize and regenerate.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Saturn retrograde in Scorpio continues to provide ample opportunity for retracing steps and retrofitting perspectives of soul and self. Others are more than happy and willing to accept apologies, reconsider options and reconstruct relationships. It really all comes down and back to you. What do you want? Take your time, no rushing, and just follow your heart.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) This week’s new Moon solar eclipse heralds the advent of a powerful new phase of self-improvement regarding personal health and well-being. Rather than self-criticize and condemn, embrace the art of wellness. Now consider what that is: positive attitudes, healthy boundaries, self-care, gratitude and the courage to maintain an open heart. Good luck. You can do it!
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The shake, rattle and roll of the open eclipse window in light of the grand cardinal cross in orb may have rocks tumbling and thunder rumbling. But, whatever the manifestations, we must accept what comes. Knowing the difference between what we can change and what we cannot is the golden key. What can you change? You! Take the high road, follow the light.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Moving and grooving, living in the light, following your heart. All are handy slogans and colloquial clichés, but somehow they seem to work. One day at a time, you are gradually getting it done, making progress and feeling better and better about yourself and your life. Achievement requires commitment and perseverance. Congratulations, remain on task.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Communication is a theme for you these days and the rather reticent, receptive quality of this week’s Taurus new Moon solar eclipse favors the establishment of more disciplined boundaries regarding speech and thought. Pay attention to internal dialogues and habitual patterns of self-expression. Focus on efficiency, edit words, practice learning and enjoy listening.

Visible Planets: Morning: Venus, Saturn Evening: Mars, Jupiter
The Ethereal, Ecliptic Tunnel of Mysterious, Metaphysical Change
After a quick trip to Denver, I’m back home, back in the saddle, attending to the basil, tomato and pepper starts inside; outside watering lettuce and spinach sprouts, raking freshly cut grass-hay in the tree farm to use for mulch and compost, and now, sitting in front of the computer to write my weekly columns.
My trip to Denver was a bit bizarre. The night prior to my departure was the eclipse night of April 14-15, and I got only three hours of sleep. Both my husband Richard and I had gone to bed at around 11:00 p.m., but couldn’t go to sleep. In anticipation of the full Moon total lunar eclipse – which was billed all over the media news as an ominous “Blood Moon” - we kept getting up to look out the window to see if the Moon was starting to eclipse. It felt ridiculous, but as an astrologer, star-gazer and Moon-watcher, I simply had no choice.
Finally, around 12:30 a.m., Richard dozed off, but I lay there, wide-awake. One hour later, the Moon was near total eclipse – a darkened burgundy-reddish-orange color, in full shadow of the Earth - and I decided I had seen enough. I could return to bed and go to sleep. After all, I would be getting up at 6:00 a.m. to load my car and head off to Denver. I needed sleep. But sleep did not come.
The next morning, driving through Gateway Canyon and over the Unaweep Divide, I kept thinking about my life, my family and eclipses. This one - the one that kept me awake until about 3:00 a.m. the night before – had been touted by astrologers and soothsayers as one of great impact and import, largely due to the fact that it took place just days prior to the fifth of seven exact Uranus-Pluto squares. It also constellated a powerful cardinal grand cross involving Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus and several feminine asteroids. And yet, I felt relatively calm, but definitely curious. Nothing super-crazy or weird had happened – so far. Other than the ongoing unveiling and unraveling of our corrupted and disgustingly bottlenecked, bureaucratic system of government, the inequity and inequality of the masses in contrast to the exclusive needs and unbridled greed of the super-wealthy – who actually control the world’s politics, media and business – it all seemed business as usual.
I was headed to Denver to attend a parole hearing for an inmate at the Denver Department of Corrections. On a very personal level, I was wondering, “Would this eclipse pan out to be an omen of release or continued jail time? What will come to fruition? What will be revealed?” Like so many, I wanted to know: good or bad? What part of my, and my family’s life and times, will be “eclipsed”? Who and what will dramatically change?
About 2:00 p.m., near Idaho Springs, my brother called my cell phone to let me know that he had just received a call from a DOC case manager regarding the parole hearing. No one on the "outside" would be able to attend the hearing due to a lock-down flu quarantine at the prison. And there you have it…
The story is much longer, but I’ll spare the details. My trip was eclipsed, along with my plans to enter the prison, visit and see a close-to-my-heart prisoner. Three days later, I’m back home. Back in the saddle, gardening and writing, doing what I usually do. But somehow, I feel changed. I have seen the world illuminated by the burgundy-reddish tint of lunar light. Body, soul and spirit have traveled through the enigmatic, ethereal tunnel of ecliptic mystery and metaphysical transformation. Metamorphic change. And I still don’t know the outcome. Surrender and acceptance. Peace and starlight. Gratitude and grace.
Onward Cosmic Traveler…to the upcoming new Moon solar eclipse, living and breathing in the magic and miracle of the eternal now.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) As the full Moon lunar eclipse brought issues to fruition, the upcoming new Moon solar eclipse opens the way upon a path of territory yet uncharted. The rich fodder of previous experience has provided you with the necessary lessons, learning and knowledge you need to survive this metamorphic cycle of death and rebirth. You must now commit to creative change to succeed.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) The waning Moon rises later and smaller each night; increasing darkness and illuminating the inner treasures of soul and spirit. As your birthday month fast approaches, take time to revisit the experiences, feelings and learning of the previous year. An upcoming new Moon solar eclipse heralds a major life ending and new beginning. Mantra: Health is wealth.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Old programs are erased and new possibilities emerge as the present eclipse cycle rolls around the zodiac. Energetic grids are deleted, taken offline, recoded, rewritten and rebooted. As the first air-sign of the tropical zodiac, Twins react by thinking and talking. This month, record ideas via journals and diaries. You need time to process perceptions before presenting them to the world.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) The cardinal grand cross in orb mixes magic and magnificence with trials, tests and tribulations, but, c’est la vie, such is the price of a rewarding life. You may see what you thought was “bad” deliver the most “good” and what you desperately wanted, lose its luster. Whatever comes, accept it with grace. Jupiter in your sign continues to shower you with gold. Shimmer and shine.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Mental Mercury in impulsive Aries may have you suddenly planning an exotic trip or researching travel to far-off places on foreign soil. Whatever the manifestation, spiritual stimulation comes now via intellectual exploration and discovery. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, intimate sharing with attractive partners proves seductive and enticing. Be realistic, but enjoy the show.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Other people, places and things attract you now as voluptuous Venus in your solar 7th house of partnership pulls you up and out of personal projects and agendas. Enjoy the company of someone you love, dine at your favorite restaurant and relax in the pleasure of sharing some of life’s most simple pleasures. All in all, life is good. Just remember, responsibility equals freedom
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Martial Mars in Libra continues playing the role of a spiritually enlightened, physically fit and emotionally balanced warrior in your life now, encouraging right action and taking the high road whenever possible. Its current retrograde motion favors personal retrofit and review. Focus on balance and maintain self-discipline as you follow your heart and walk in beauty.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) As the Sun moves from Aries into Taurus at week’s end, you may feel a subtle shift of priorities regarding yourself and others. After a month of emphasis on service and self-improvement, health and work, you are now moving into a phase of relationship action and interaction. Living selfishly no longer feels good. Now it’s time to share the best of what you have and are. Just take it slow.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Good things are found close to home this week as Venus moves through your solar 4th house of family and foundations. You may find yourself wanting to beautify your immediate physical environment, improve your domestic situation or find an attractive roommate with whom to share your home and time. Cultivate inner peace, practice patience and maintain calm.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Pluto recently retrograde in Capricorn heralds a prolonged period of review and revision regarding everything and anything having to do with you and your life. Personal responsibility, acceptance and patience are powerful allies in this metamorphic, transformative time. The good news is that you are the most important person in your life. It’s all up to you.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) While others seem to be caught up in the chaos and drama, trials and tribulations of these days and times, somehow you seem to be riding the tide and catching the waves with unique grace and unusual calm. Perhaps it is because radical Uranus – the revolutionary character-forcing awakening and change – is your personal ally. Just go with the flow.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Venus in Pisces surrounds you with a sparkle and glow that others find enticing and magnetically attractive. How sweet! And as one who naturally exudes empathy and compassion, this is a very seductive mix. So don’t be surprised if people in the market or on the street are smiling at you and even commenting on your beauty. Just take it in with grace.

Visible Planets: Morning: Mercury, Venus, Saturn Evening: Mars, Jupiter
A Total Lunar Eclipse: Rock the Heavens and Awaken the World
Wow! Here we are on the precipice of an enormously daunting cosmic cliff. Do we jump and test our ability to fly, soaring above the jagged rocks and raging rivers below, tapping into the brave heart of courage and confidence; or do we stand frozen, on the edge of a perceptual, perpetual darkness, paralyzed by fear and overwhelmed by the dangers lurking amongst shadows of doubt, deceit, depression and despair?
Chances are, we don’t have time to make a choice. It is something more like instinct. It is an almost sink or swim time now for us humans here on Earth. The stakes are high, and action will happen – is happening - with or without our well-thought-out, all-too-slow coming-to-the-table of awakening consciousness. Whether we jump and fly or stand frozen and die depends upon our individual, innate ability to intuit, react and act. And we must act quickly and consistently, combining the electric light of truth-loving Uranus in self-fueled Aries with the powerful, obsessive passion of Pluto in commitment-oriented Capricorn.
Also in orb and at work are the forces of flight-or-fight Mars in peace-loving Libra in square aspect to expansive, good-luck planet Jupiter in maternal, nurturing Cancer. Throw in a full Moon total lunar eclipse at midnight on April 14th/15th in the “me vs. us” Aries/Libra polarity, and we have a dynamic, snap-crackle-pop cardinal grand cross, illuminated and intensified by the celestial [inner and outer] lights of soul [Moon] and spirit [Sun] that promise to rock the heavens and rumble the Earth with plenty of shake, rattle and roll.
Cardinal grand crosses always indicate – for everyone - a facing, balancing and taking action process – ultimately awakening and change - in the areas of personal self and desires [Aries], significant others and longterm commitments [Libra], family, security and family of origin issues [Cancer], and last - but certainly not least - our chosen professional or career path; including goals, achievements, social standing and life ambitions [Capricorn].
That’s a lot to take in, and as I mentioned, it’s an enormously daunting cosmic cliff upon which to stand. Especially when we look at it through global and universal lenses. What can we do? Does it even matter? Can I make a difference?
Bottom line: Awaken to your personal part – the part you play in this unfolding evolutionary, cosmic drama – identify your individual responsibilities, gifts and talents and then simply do your best to contribute what you can via good intention, right action and enlightened consciousness, one day and one moment at a time. By living in the present, embracing the now, knowing we are no better or no worse than anyone else here on planet Earth, we can begin the change we want the world to be. Big or little, large or small, we are all being called upon to be a part of the solution, not the problem. Simply do what you know is right. Good luck and God bless…
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) A dynamic full Moon total lunar eclipse takes place at midnight on April 14th/15th in the Aries-Libra polarity. This heralds a point of dramatic clarification regarding your personal self and life in relation to others, your place in society, profession, home and family. Embrace the great potential for change and correction, as you are now the agent of change.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) As the Sun and Moon move align in the exact opposition of a total lunar eclipse, breathe deep and follow your heart. Each side of the celestial teeter-totter is carrying the heavy weight of companion planets and asteroids, making the dynamics unusually powerful and intense. Acceptance and surrender are allies, and for now, the wisest choice.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) An overload of celestial bodies in the Aries-Libra polarity may have you fired up and ready to express yourself when it comes to all matters of the heart. Ceres tightly conjunct the Moon brings crucial environmental, food and feminine power issues to the fore, impelling concern and right action. Gather forces and resources, focus on solutions and do what you can.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Prepare to ride the biggest wave of change in 2014 this week as the Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto and several asteroids align in a cardinal grand cross total solar eclipse. And as a cardinal sign yourself; expect to feel the powerful punch of personal awakening in every aspect of your life. Keep your eyes and heart open, ride the tide and go with the flow.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) You may find it difficult and downright mind-boggling to wrap your head around the myriad of possibilities and probabilities facing you now, so instead, just let it go. Life is a magical mystery tour at best, and you are the traveler on a journey of love. Open your heart and breathe deep. Focus on goodness and experience grace. Then help others see the light.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) You may be called upon this week to mediate, negotiate or simply bring calm to a rather stormy sea as lunar and solar lights illuminate issues of personal ability and responsibility. The main goal and challenge now is to stay calm, practice patience and cultivate compassion with others as new information exposes hidden issues and intimacies. Keep cool, take it easy.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Finding the ballast in the storm, keeping it all in balance and increasing the overall stability of your personal, family and love life are themes this week. Others may expect or request your presence at social, professional or political gatherings. Do your best to attend, but do not forfeit inner peace, physical or emotional well-being. Nurture compassion and calm.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) Vesta and Ceres conjunct the Moon in Libra and oppose the Sun and Juno in Aries this week, amplifying feminine themes and illuminating the abuse, murder, inequality and inequity of women worldwide. Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars force exposition of the painful, deep, dark truth. As spiritual warrior and champion of light, help the sick and heal the wounded.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Swords clash and sabers rattle in the battle of yin and yang, dark and light, good and evil as a dynamically powerful celestial gathering of planets and asteroids conflict and collide in a tsunami of rising tides and cataclysmic awakening, change and transformation. As a bodhisattva of the Aquarian Age, arm yourself with openhearted courage, compassion and goodness.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) The futility of fighting for dominance and the illusion of wielding power over anyone or anything are themes as celestial lights illuminate the treachery, treason and torture born of absolute power and dictatorship. Whether it’s the world stage or the home front, check yourself and others for patterns and behaviors of misuse and abuse. Truth is your ally, use it.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The cosmic directive for more co-creative partnerships with each other and our Mother Earth is emphasized this week as planets gather and feminine asteroids chatter. We must join force to thrive and survive. The world and all life upon it is at risk, it’s time to face the truth and do something about it. Eclipse energy is shaking you to awake. Awaken.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) A rare, tight cardinal grand cross takes center-stage in an Aries-Libra full Moon midnight total lunar eclipse this week, signaling a time of major breakthroughs and breakdowns. Keywords for this extraordinary combo are courage and collaboration, ingenuity and integrity. It’s unmistakably clear what’s working and what must radically change. Be an agent of change.

The 5th of 7 Exact Pluto-Uranus Squares Evokes the Past...
Last year at this time, I was writing about the same thing I am writing about today – the Pluto-Uranus square and the wild, celestial battle it constellates in our ethereal and physical worlds.
While checking the dates of the seven exact Pluto-Uranus squares taking place from June 26 2012 to March 17 2015, I decided to reference a column I had written previously about this extremely dynamic, difficult, awakening and metamorphic long-term planetary transit. Just so happens I went to the column of April 3, 2013. And guess what I found? The exact verbage I wanted to find, plus a heartfelt homage to my favorite New Age comic book heroine, Wonder Woman.
I have decided to reprint the introduction to the column in its entirety - sans the Sun sign forecasts - which are, of course, new, up-to-the-minute and ready to roll for NOW. Here it is…
Wonder Woman and Uranus-Pluto Go Underground
This is the last week I’ll be featuring Wonder Woman as a feminine icon of the Aquarian Age – at least for a while. As my new fantasy sister-in-arms and comic book comadre, she has been a much welcomed and long-awaited muse. Running into her on the Internet, researching her history and discovering the plethora of fabulous, magnificently imaginative and stunning artistic illustrations of her – created over a period of 70 years! - has been fun, entertaining and inspirational. Her presence of spirit is one of yin comfort and yang motivation. As one of America’s first feminists, WW holds the key to my heart. And, just like Uranus-Pluto, she may go out-of-sight, disappear, exit the radar screen, hide out and even go underground, but she will not be going away.
Uranus-Pluto, in its present square aspect, constellates the celestial battle of yin and yang, dark and light, good and evil. We all know the futility of fighting for dominance – physical, financial, sexual, psychological, spiritual, mental or material - and the illusion of wielding power over, well, anyone or anything. It may feel empowering at times, or like it is working as a means to an end, but it really does not work at all. Forcing solutions on problems creates more problems. And even if new problems aren’t immediately apparent, they are seething underground, beneath the superficial surface of the new, enforced regime.
Our Universe seeks balance and resolution. Sunshine follows rain, it is darkest before dawn and it’s always calm before the storm. Everywhere we go on this magnificent planet Earth, we see the dance of the Sun and Moon, stars and sky, river and ocean, bird and beast. We, as humans, want to grasp it all, hold it tight, never let go of what makes us feel good, makes us happy, secure and at peace. We seek the comfort of feeling worthwhile, significant in this wildly vast cosmic dream. And yet, in our hearts and souls, in our deepest inner knowing, we know we are nothing, like grains of sand or dust in the wind. Here and there, ultimately, gone in another tomorrow.
Throughout history, there have been kings and queens, benevolent rulers and brutal dictators. Peoples have lived and thrived, suffered and perished. Those in power, and those who rise to power, attempt to keep their power, and often go to great lengths to maintain it. In the name of…
And this is what Uranus-Pluto is all about: the function of self-awakening via a long, painful process of ego-busting, emotional suffering caused by a passionate attachment to power and self-will. The correct use of will and power, the use and misuse of power, enlightenment through truth, and the eternally karmic equations of action and consequence are themes. Whether we are looking at these times through our personal lens of emotion and experience or the global, collective, cosmic lens, we are fighting a battle of love and kindness, where we must discover and cultivate our own inner goodness and use it as a weapon against abuse, injustice, killing, the destruction of life and the desecration of what is sacred.
I’m asking Wonder Woman to help me, what about you?
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Last year at this time you were facing the snap, crackle, pop of radical, revolutionary personal change that only Uranus can bring. Of course, the dynamic cardinal square from seething Pluto made sure it would be deep, metamorphic change. Nothing superficial here. And the process continues. Keep the faith in truth, right action and self-discipline.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) As you move toward the year’s first eclipse, pay close attention to the invisible and spiritual, magical and mysterious energies and events that you feel, experience and encounter. As a practical pragmatist, you prefer to focus on the facts. But what about intention and intuition? How important are they in the outcome of a situation? Relax, observe and intuit.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) As the Sun joins force with explosive Uranus in the zodiac’s first and most impulsive sign, either hold on to your hat or let it go flying with the wild wind of change. New dreams, hopes and visions ride shotgun on the metaphysical journey forward. Old shapes and structures no longer uplift and inspire you. It’s time to expand, explore, discover and grow. Embrace it.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) The ecliptic window opens wide this week to let the raucous winds of Uranian change and awakening blow through your heart and soul. Meanwhile, seductive Pluto pulls you down and deep, past buried childhood memories and coming-of-age emotions. This is powerful stuff and deserves both attention and process. Honor feelings and healing.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) As Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn cue up for their fifth of seven exact squares, the Moon inches closer to the first lunar eclipse of the year. This translates as a time of great electromagnetic pull and intensity, when everything seems to have more importance and impact. Do your best to keep cool and maintain balance. Be the saint, guru and wise one.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Restlessness and issues of individual freedom emerge this week as planets align in snap, crackle, pop, push and pull energies of awakening. Erratic behaviors, quick quips and bold moves are par for the course, especially regarding others. Personal breakthroughs are possible if you are willing to let go of pride, ego and open to new ways of seeing and being.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Balance is your dictum and peace is your ally. Conflict and violence are contrary to both. As the zodiac’s preeminent diplomat, tap into your inherent natural talents of negotiation, cooperation and equanimity as you breathe deep and follow your heart. Emotions are like the weather, no feeling is final. Cultivate the wisdom of acceptance and the art of calm.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) As your modern planetary ruler Pluto gears up for its 5th exact square with Uranus, prepare heart and head via a daily practice of acceptance, meditation and prayer. Forgiveness and surrender are themes these days, and as hard as it is to do it, both are essential to your current health and wealth. Holding on to resentment and anger is lethal. Let go and live free.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Sudden awakenings may spur impetuous action this week as flutters of planetary influence dart and dive in a dangerous dance of pride, ego, freedom and self-will. Practice the art of vigilance as you keep an open eye on your thoughts, words, emotions, actions and deeds. You are the star of the show in your own life story. How well are you playing the part?
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) You may awaken to a strong sense of anticipation as April’s power-packed cosmic alignments draw closer. And because you have become familiar with the deep, metamorphic, transformational energetic of Pluto over the last several years, you are well prepared for whatever comes to pass. Armed with truth, stand as a leader and example of strength and wisdom.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Voluptuous Venus moves through the last degrees of Aquarius this week and bids adieu to the romantic journey upon which she has been companions and paramour. No worries, it is time for support in arenas of personal creativity and material production. Expansion is a theme in established places and projects. Practice patience and focus on progress.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) As Mercury marches through the final degrees of Pisces, put finishing touches on springtime plans, upcoming trips and personally important projects. Good news: Venus is coming to visit for a month-long stay. Prepare for several weeks of enhanced creativity, beauty and romantic attraction amidst a rather exciting, chaotic world. Relax and enjoy the joy.

Wild, Raucous Pink Winds of Change & the Pluto-Uranus Square
Yesterday afternoon a wild, dusty pink cloud of raucous wind and spitting rain roared in from Utah. Trees shook and branches bounced up and down, all around in a crazy dance of spring. It was as if the great, powerful hands of distant, restless sky gods were reaching down to grasp the slumbering, dormant life upon Mother Earth to cry, “Awaken!” Mulch scattered and birds fluttered, looking for shelter in the storm. Inside, winter-dried aspen crackled in our woodstove as I listened to the outside sounds of pelting sleet and howling winds, grateful and thankful to have a warm house and safe place to be – at that moment, at that time – in my life.
I often notice how weather is like emotions. When it’s cold and raining, it seems like it will always be cold and raining. When it’s hot and dry, when the rains won’t come and the earth is parched, it seems like it will be drought forever. When sunny, bright, magnificent blue skies stun my senses and infuse my heart with joy, I forget about those cold, rainy mornings and snowy, frozen nights. When meadowlarks sing and bluebirds fly, it seems as if it will always be so.
When I’m sad and blue, feeling self-pity and worry, I forget about those moments of ecstasy and joy, peace, acceptance and surrender. It seems – in those moments - as if life is perpetually filled with challenge and lesson, fear and anxiety. When I’m happy, I am happy. When it’s raining, it is raining. And sometimes – quite often - it’s raining and I’m happy.
I feel my feelings like I feel the weather. Frustration and anger have a way of trumping joy and peace, just like sunshine follows rain. Clouds move in and clouds move out. And just like the weather, no feeling is final. The perpetual wheel of time, the returning seasons, eternal and forever, here and gone, today and tomorrow, infinite and always…change. *And that’s what the recurring cardinal square of Uranus in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn is all about – dynamic change – from the depths of the soul to the ethereal realms of our ever-expanding Universe. CHANGE. The blessings and challenge of change. Changing weather and changing times, feelings and frontiers. May we walk, live, laugh and love in the bounty of beautiful, eternal, physical, emotional, spiritual cosmic change. Goodness and grace, good luck!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) As the Sun and Moon come together in Aries, you are being reborn. And this is no trite talk or airy-fairy fantasy. Body, soul and spirit unite in an unprecedented amalgamation of new life in uncharted territory. You are blazing new trails and pathways of enlightenment, traveling roads you have not traveled. Embrace courage, compassion and commitment. Go forth.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) One of the most potent lunations of the year comes forth this week as the Sun and Moon unite in fiery Aries. Inner flames illuminate deep feelings and awaken heartfelt memories of the past. Embrace the power and meaning of those who have come and gone. Bless their presence in your life and live in harmony with their teachings. Be kind and gentle; find peace.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The new-life season of spring pulls at heartstrings and excites inspiration as days grow longer and grass grows greener. You may feel stimulated and motivated to create, explore new territory or seek companionship amongst people who uplift the spirit and encourage exploration. By all means, get out and about. Travel the road less traveled.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) The Aries new Moon opens the door on a new solar and lunar year, encouraging Moonchildren to seek out and discover people, places and things that stimulate, excite and inspire them. Consider your path of achievement and identify what you might change for the better. Define goals and strategies, focus on right action and go forth, one day at a time.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) With a pack of planets and asteroids in fellow fire-sign Aries this week – including the natural year’s first new Moon – you may feel more inspired and uplifted than you have in months. Congratulations! You’ve made it through winter and are now on the precipice of a fantastic personal year. Breathe deep and feel its power. Go forth, awaken and embrace.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) As you take those first steps into spring, walk softly and take time to smell the emerging aromas of new life on planet Earth. The unlimited power and potential of our ever-expanding Universe awaits, all you need is focus and commitment. Getting what you want depends on knowing what you want. Identify desires, set goals and work with calm, patient determination.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) We learn everything by practice, and practice makes perfect. Well, not exactly perfect. We have learned that perfect is a trap, a way to get off-track, a set-up for disappointment, resentment, blame and failure. Wise ones take pleasure in the practice of goodness, grace and gratitude, love imperfections and embrace the magic of mystery. Happy spring, go forth in joy.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) A kaleidoscope of celestial bodies in the Aries/Libra polarity nudges sedate Saturn in Scorpio to take a step sideways and see the world from a more positive, productive vantage point. Tap into your deep, inner wells of courage and fortitude and discover the wellsprings of love, compassion, joy and hope. Drink from the water, bathe in the light.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Prepare for takeoff and bare in mind that it is only when we are aloft and above that we can see what is going on below. Where have you been traveling lately? What have you discovered within and without? This week’s Aries new Moon promises great, good new beginnings in love, romance and the creative spirit. Express and explore. Choose joy.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Inner voices of heart and soul guide and direct those who are willing to listen. This week and fresh new lunation offer a plethora of choices and opportunities regarding personal life direction. What and who truly inspires you? Are you living life in harmony with goodness, value and virtue? Are you walking a path of heart? Hear the message, heed the call.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Uranus and Pluto make 7 exact squares between 2012 and 2015, pressuring manifestation of the visions seeded during their last conjunction in the ‘60s. These are truly Aquarian visions. 3 weeks hence, the 5th square mandates awakening and participation, on every level. Be there or be square. And we know you are not square. Show up and be here, now.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) Whenever the Sun, Moon or fast-moving planet aligns with a slower outer planet, the evolutionary pace picks up, increasing winds of change and transformation. This week’s new Moon conjoins Uranus, amplifying its ongoing cardinal square to Pluto. Translation: do the very best you can in everything you do. Your actions matter tremendously. Lead by example, show us the way.

Spring, the Warrior Goddess & Aries Bodhisattva Path to War
As the Sun moves in to cardinal Aries and the rebirthing season of spring begins, we feel the emerging power of new life. Dusty browns give way to vibrant greens, melting snow disappears in squishy mud and warming winds shake trees and rattle rooftops with messages of seasonal change. We, like the tierra beneath our feet, are being reborn.
Here on earth, we live and breathe, watch the Sun rise and set. We follow our instincts, whether we consciously realize it or not. We are creatures of habit, dependent upon food and water, sunlight and oxygen, exercise and movement, sleep and rest. Our modern world, with all its technological advances and advantages, often takes precedence over the natural, ecological, biological world upon which we depend.
Survival is a theme this time of year. The zodiac month of Aires is primitive, primal power - the power of fight or flight, win or lose, do or die. Ruled by the red-planet Mars, ancient God of War, Aries calls us to action and encourages us to go forth. It wants us to fight for what we want - fight for might, fight for right - fight, fight and fight some more.
There are many warriors upon the path. And many paths. Last year at this time I wrote about Wonder Woman and her amazing [to me] archetypal imagery and interesting chronological history. Her birth in December 1941 – making her an altruistic, crusading Sagittarius – and her creator - William Moulton Marston, an American psychologist, feminist theorist, inventor and comic book writer – popularized the concept of the iconic warrioress - goddess and protector of life, peace and justice – and brought the woman as warrior and crusader into the mainstream consciousness of the modern western world.
Today we see many multi-dimensional images and themes of the warrior goddess. From Wonder Woman, to Xena, to Kill Bill’s Uma Thurman, Daryl Hannah and Lucy Lu, to the most recent episodes of The History Channel’s breakaway series The Vikings, woman are slashing, trashing and thrashing their way across the hallowed grounds of traditionally masculine territory. And why not? We have always been at war, fighting for our hearts, our homes, our families, our fantasies and our faith. Fighting for our truth. It is only right to stand for what we believe in, what we love, what we feel is right.
So here’s to the emerging strength and power of the Aries spring. May we all go forth – men, women and children – together on the high road of truth and justice as bodhisattvas – enlightened spiritual warriors – armed with compassion, courage and commitment, to fight in the non-violent battle for peace, love, joy, justice, truth, equality and equanimity.
Good luck. May the gods and goddesses of goodness and light guide and protect us.
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Here we go, jumping into spring. As your Happy Birthday month begins, embrace the full spectrum of the year to come by living fully in the moment. What you do in the present creates the future. Consider the concept of habitual karma. Security in the familiar – behavior patterns, relationships, etc. – is powerful. Try the unfamiliar for positive change.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) A sense of caution combines with the push to move forward as the Sun enters initiation-happy Aries as the March 20th Vernal Equinox opens the door on spring. Restrictions and limits imposed by others must be addressed. Respect, honesty and patience are allies here. Calculate risks and benefits, take your time and focus on good thoughts, good talk and right action.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) The Aries Equinox chart is traditionally key to exploring the 3-month spring season ahead. This year we see a mixed bag of push and pull, pressure, exposition, expansion and growth, all fueled by our often uncomfortable, upsetting, ongoing snap-crackle-pop Aries-in-Uranus awakening. Hang on to truth, integrity and – above all – personal change.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Spring Equinox perennially marks a major crossroads in your yearly revolution around the Sun. Goals, achievements and recognition are themes as you see, hear and feel the ever-expanding Universe of unlimited potential and possibility knocking at your door. Continue doing the next right thing and moving in directions of goodness. And keep the faith.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) Serious Saturn retrograde in Scorpio conjuncts the Moon as spring begins, starting the natural year out with a healthy dose of caution and realism. For now, it’s business as usual; count your blessings and take your time. As soon as the cosmos are willing, the magic begins. Good luck and good fortune come when preparedness meets opportunity. Prepare.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Idealism and illusion dance with themes of emotional pain where lovelorn romance and unrequited love are present. Hey, now! Wake up and smell the roses. Are you sure you are not perceiving something that simply is not true? Self-indulgence and ego-based, repetitive thinking can drive you crazy. Focus on positive action and honest communication. Let go and let it be.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) By living in the present, we are released from the limits of the past and free to create a more exciting future. And this week, the advent of spring equinox pops open the door to 6 months of increasing action, light and interaction. The ongoing cardinal square mandates personal involvement and achievement. Keep the ball rolling, maintain balance, do your best and remember to rest when you need to.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) You may feel fear and doubt as spring begins, but truth is, it’s only healthy caution. Take a deep breath and pause. Do you have the patience to wait until the water is clear? Emotional turbulence is anti-productive to personal progress, inner and outer. Focus on creative talents and heartfelt love. Explore higher-self awareness and follow the high road.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) Springtime fuels the fires and fans the flames of love and desire as solar rays illuminate themes of heart and soul. What is it that you truly want? Where and what inspires you? Who do you find attractive? When and how do you experience inner peace, gratitude and grace? Curiosity stimulates action, and action gets you out and about. Go forth, explore and experience.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Another season comes knocking, and with it, a full-spectrum of do’s and don’ts, shoulds and coulds. This year, trade in the dark doubts, potential paralysis and false fears for new hope, new work and new action. A major life cycle is ending as the old self sheds its skin and transforms into a cleaner, happier, healthier version of that original DNA. Weed the garden.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) The Sun’s entrance into pioneering Aries fires engines and encourages action over the next 30 days. It’s time to start, begin and initiate in physical, material, emotional and spiritual worlds. Karma is real, what you do, feel, think, say and sow is what you reap. As you work with an infinite number of invisible energies, plant good, healthy, organic seeds.
Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20) As your birthday month closes and winter ends, the doorway to springtime opens wide. As the sunlight of spirit illuminates the depths of heart and soul, embrace the Great Mystery of life and death. And for those who have come and gone, we give thanks. It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. With courage and grace, we are blessed.
